What is a Nominal Bond?

A nominal bond guarantees the appointee of the estate will pay all court costs and estate debts owed by the decedent of the estate assets.

When is a Nominal Bond required?

When a person petitions to be appointed the appointee of an estate the court will determine if a bond is needed and the bond amount required to cover estate assets.

What is needed to apply?

You will need court documents, a driver's license or ID card, a completed application and a Letter of Representation from Attorney (only required if the bond amount is over $25,000.
